There's a lot of great video footage ou there (BDO, Lollpalooza, Henry Rollins Show, ACL, Late Night Shows, etc) we should make a DVD of the all.I remember when they first broke up, a sub pop e-mail was sent asking fans for video footage for a video retrospective, but sadly nothing came of it.There was also someone filming the last two shows before the hiatus in the Crystal Ballroom. I was always hoping to see a concert film of that.Wasn't that someone Lance Bangs (Mr Corin Tucker)?I think he was.could't find the email.the Surface Envy live video that was posted months ago seems like something he might have done and it's a great video with lots of great footage.I still think something could be done compiling all of the pro-shot footage out there.any volunteer? You can see some footage in this interview , and it's courtesy of Bangs.
George Of The Hot Rock
It seems edited, so it exists in some form, but just hasn't seen release. All Hands on the Bad OneThe WoodsDig Me OutOne BeatThe Hot RockNo Cities to LoveSelf TitledCall the DoctorAll are great for me. The first 4 albums are all nearly tied, and the other 4 albums too, I'm not even sure about my order. It feels wrong to have Call the Doctor last, because I love it. But S/T is criminally underrated as well, and I think I'm more inclined to listen to it these days. It's interesting how I got into all of these nearly at the same time (when NCTL came out), and while I love that album I feel like No Cities to Love has aged rather poorly compared to the rest. It used to be near the top for me.Chewm on my ass hol e.
This is in my top three favorite Sleater-Kinney records; this album has a great deal of range, from poppy numbers to real aggressive grinders, so there's always something to fit your mood! Sounds more like All Hands on The Bad One and One Beat than any of their other records. Perhaps giving away too much of the sort of S-K tunes I love.my favorites here are 'The Size of Our Love' and 'A Quarter to Three' (they were the first S-K songs I downloaded off Kazaa while in college, more than ten years ago!).I have an original vinyl pressing, which seems to be getting rarer nowadays. The sound is consistently clear throughout, with basically zero surface noise. The productions value varies across some songs ('Quarter to Three' sounds almost lo-fi), but that's got nothing to do with the pressing. Well worth your cash if you can get a good price!
